INTELLECTUS – Mission for a bright future is a career guidance and motivational lecturing program and a discussion aiming A/l students. This is a CSR project organized by the under graduates and  past students of Bandarawela Central College.

Bandarawela is remote area from Colombo and due to this students coming from such areas have lack of knowledge and information about career development and possible opportunities. That is why this program is created and implemented with the greatest support and guidance with the undergraduates and old boys association of Bandarawela Central College.

Aim of the project

The ultimate aim and perseverance of the lecturing program is to build internal recognition of students on “who I am, what suits me, on what can I develop my career”.
As the past students from the great BANDARAWELA CENTRAL COLLEGE, when we came Colombo as outsiders we actually had a minor level of knowledge regarding our career development. This program is thoroughly a kind of paying our immaculate gratitude to the school and to provide some basement in students mind to accelerate on their own capabilities, desires and to build up their own aspirations.
• Use students to make well-informed choices about their future working lives and to translate these effectively into appropriate decisions and actions.
• Maintain and develop links with the range of organization’s/people/links providing appropriate opportunities for students, including further study.
• To help students understand and develop the necessary skills to equip them for whatever career path they choose.
• To provide opportunities for students to understand their competencies, aspirations and options through a variety of means, including personal discussion with professional advisers.
• To promote the exchange of ideas between under graduates and students of the representatives of other organizations.

Target group

INTELLECTUS – Mission for a bright future, target group is A/L students of the commerce section of BANDARAWELA CENTRAL COLLEGE .We launch our program covering career guidance and university life highlighting any one can develop their own way to live without any hesitation.
Basic thing we implement is the guest lecture’s conversation aiming how to develop individual study planning, how to prepare for the exams, after A/L what should be done. Second session is about to have a friendly discussion between under graduates and students regarding the current issues in studying and exchanging experiences.
Career guidance is a crucial factor in bridging the gap between higher education and the world of work, providing it is not solely focused on employability indicators. When understood as a process requiring strategic planning, assessment, professionalization of the staff and commitment to a comprehensive education. In that respect, the role of career guidance in higher education is important to engage students and graduates in their own personal and professional development to the benefit of their communities.
